Costa Rica is bordered by Nicaragua and Panama. It has coastlines on both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, the latter being the most attractive for cruising. The Costa Ballena and Ojochal is located between three of the most polpular Yachting Marinas all within 150km from Eden’s Nest easily reachable via the main Coastal Highway or Costanera Sur.

For crew this means that getting away from it all and those seeking adventure outside the marina it is only a short drive away!

GOLFITO

Only 100km or 1 ½ hours drive south from Eden’s Nest is one of the most popular and pleasant ports to visit in all of Costa Rica - Golfito. It’s situated along the southern part of the Pacific Coast, and it sports several fishing villages and many natural attractions that allow you to experience the tropics with minimal impact.

The area itself is known for its endless supply of amazing waves for surfers and its incredible sport fishing. Pacific Sailfish are plentiful year round along with many other choices of catch.There are a lot of other activities to partake in while you are there, catch the annual migration of the Pacific Humpback Whales or explore 30,000 acres of coastal cliffs and rainforest.

IGY Golfito Marina Village

Nestled in miles of unexplored wilderness this IGY destination is a spectacular Marina destination.Situated outside of the hurricane belt, this location boasts one of the only private deep water marinas in the world that can accommodate vessels exceeding 350' (123m).

The 700’ main pier of Golfito Marina is the centerpiece of the facility – a stately marine-grade dock with a combination of composite wood, decorative pavers and concrete decking This structure serves as the lynchpin of Golfito Marina, bustling with activity and capable of accommodating numerous vessels as well.
Coupled with a 265-foot fuel dock and state-of-the-art service yard, the pier and its adjacent facilities form a quintessential operation – crafted to suit the distinct needs of superyachts, their owners and crews.

QUEPOS & MANUAL ANTONIO

Approximately 80 kilometers or and hours drive from Ojochal lies the Port of Quepos and Manual Antonio National Park.

As a tropical inlet backed by rainforest, Quepos is a small booming harbor town famous for being one of the best places in the world for big-game sport fishing as well as the gateway to Manuel Antonio. With a variety of outdoor adventure and nightlife, the village center composes six blocks of restaurants, bars, hotels, art galleries and gift shops, all resting beside the main beach and sport fishing fleet. The city is located in the northern part of the Puntarenas province on Costa Rica's central Pacific coast.

Manuel Antonio is the jewel of the Pacific Coast that is home to one of the top beaches in the world located within Manuel Antonio National Park. It is one of the smallest parks in Costa Rica but it is the most visited due to its varied fauna with 109 species of mammals and 184 of birds. This park is just south of Quepos on the Pacific Coast, 132 km from San José. It is so popular because of its expansive white sand beaches backed by an evergreen forest that grows right up to the high tide line.

The town of Manuel Antonio is small but host several hideaway hotels and luxury vacation rentals. In this small town, you can enjoy the fresh fruits and veggies from the “feria” (weekly market),have a five star meal at many of the restaurants, hire a private chef to cook for you or mix in with the locals and join them eating a “casado”( typical Costa Rican meal) at any of the “sodas”(little local restaurants).

Marina Pez Vela - 9°25’35”N | 84°10’22”W

Quepos is now home to one of the prettiest & impressive marinas in Costa Rica. Marina Pez Vela opened in 2014 and it currently has about 200 wet slips that can accommodate boats of up to 200 feet. There is also a dry rack that can accommodate up to 40 boats up to 38 feet. The marina is also home to many restaurants & shops and it also hosts multiple fishing tournaments each year.

Sport Fishing

No trip to Quepos is complete without a sport fishing tour. The shoreline is home to many fish that are considered premier catches, including marlin, sailfish, snapper, amberjack, wahoo, dorado, yellow fin and big eye tuna, and roosterfish. With the several charter companies operating, you can prepare to hook a winner. Angling enthusiasts can fish inshore or offshore, with the option of fly fishing as well. PLAYA HERRADURA

150km North of Eden’s Nest lies Playa Herradura, tucked along the Central Pacific Coast with rolling mountains in the backdrop. Glistening aqua-green waters and black-sand beaches are perfectly lined with palm trees where travelers can escape into a tropical trance. Playa Herradura is turning into a hot tourist destination, as there are canopy tours and nearby national parks for those looking to explore this region's finest locales. Located about an hour from the San Jose International Airport on the new highway, Playa Herradura is easily accessible for travelers and yacht crew wishing to explore the Southern Pacific.

Los Sueños Marina

Just a few years ago, Playa Herradura, just north of Jaco off of the Costanera Sur, was a quiet getaway that drew many locals. For tourists, this region was fairly under-the-radar but the Los Sueños Marina and resort has turned this unparalleled region into a luxurious resort. Spanning 1,100 acres, this planned community is home to a 200 wet slip marina, 600-acre rainforest reserve, 18-hole championship golf course and a spectacular array of accommodation residences.

World Class Sportfishing

Fishing enthusiasts may never want to leave this world-class marina, which is Costa Rica's only full-service, government sanctioned and five-star marina. It is home to the largest fleet of game fishing captains and boats in the country, making this an unforgettable vacation spot for sportfishing enthusiasts. Wet slips can accommodate vessels from 30 to 180 feet, and the dry storage space can fit vessels less than 35 feet in length.
